I have been in the taxidermy business now for almost 11 years. I began taxidermy when I was only eleven years old working with my Uncle and Grandfather. They are the owners of Mountin' Man Taxidermy, located here in Kendall, NY.
I strive to provide the highest of quality to you, at the most reasonable price. I believe my prices are fair. You can go out and find someone much more expensive, or someone much less expensive. But why pay more for the same, or why pay less, for less? I am now state and federally licensed with a Federal Migratory Bird Permit. Of all of the animals I have done, not only do I prefer to mount migratory birds, but I receive the most enjoyment out of a completed waterfowl mount than anything else. It may be due to the fact I am an avid waterfowl hunter, or it may just be because there is so much detail and time that goes into a bird mount, that the finished specimen is more than just another mounted animal.
April 29th-May 2nd 2010 was the New York State Taxidermy Show. This was the first show I've ever attended and it was a complete success. I entered a diving hen common merganser into the commercial waterfowl division. The mount was done as if the bird was under water chasing a pair of minnows. The mount took second place in the waterfowl category. I am very pleased with the results and cannot wait to go back and compete next year.
As you can see, I am changing my website frequently. More and more pictures are being added, in all sorts of poses. I now have my bird galleries broken down into Standing, Flying, and Miscellaneous for waterfowl, and soon I will have an upland bird gallery featuring pheasants, turkeys, etc.
Feel free to get a hold of me with any further questions or comments you may have about myself, my mounts, or my business. I'd love to hear about your experience with my work.
